Royal Exchange Theatre reveals the cast for its festive 2025 production of Singin’ In The Rain

The Royal Exchange Theatre has unveiled its star-studded cast for the much-anticipated Christmas 2025 production of Singin’ In The Rain, directed by Raz Shaw. This iconic musical, inspired by the beloved Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, will run on the Exchange’s in-the-round stage from 29 November 2025 – 18 January 2026, with press night on Thursday 4 December at 7.30pm.

The production promises a dazzling mix of tap-dancing, classic songs, and theatrical spectacle, following the story of Hollywood’s transition from silent films to “talkies” through the eyes of dashing film star Don Lockwood.

Star Cast Brings Classic Hollywood to Life

Returning to the Royal Exchange after his acclaimed 2019 performance in Gypsy, Louis Gaunt steps into the iconic shoes of Don Lockwood, bringing charm and charisma to this legendary role. He is joined by Laura Baldwin as Lina Lamont, Danny Collins as Cosmo Brown, and Olivier-nominated Carly Mercedes Dyer making her Royal Exchange debut as Kathy Selden.

Supporting them are Carl Sanderson as Roscoe Dexter, Clancy Ryan as Dora Bailey, and Julius D’Silva as RF Simpson, alongside an exceptional ensemble of actor-musicians and dancers including Tanisha-Mae Brown, Adam Davidson, Frances Dee, Zac Frieze, Jessica Keable, Gregor McCann, Benjamin Mundy, Ria Tanaka, and Thomas Walton.

The cast has been carefully selected by casting director Will Burton to ensure a mix of musical theatre expertise, dynamic performance skills, and captivating on-stage energy.
