🥧 WAITRESS THE MUSICAL – ★★★★★

A deliciously entertaining five-star triumph! ⭐

We returned to Joe's Diner as Waitress the Musical brought its 10th anniversary UK tour to The Lowry in Salford, and what a wonderful evening of musical theatre!

🌟 Lucie Jones was outstanding as Jenna, delivering stunning vocals and a beautifully emotional performance of She Used to Be Mine.

🎭 Bernadette Bangura was equally brilliant as Becky, with fantastic comic timing and plenty of warmth.

With unforgettable music by Sara Bareilles, hilarious moments and a heartfelt story about friendship, hope and finding happiness, Waitress remains one of my favourite musicals.

⭐ Our verdict: 5/5 stars!

Have you seen Waitress? What's your favourite song from the musical? 🥧

🐂 THE LITTLEST YAK AT HOME MANCHESTER ❄️ | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Come with us to see The Littlest Yak at HOME Manchester!

Based on the award-winning children's book by Lu Fraser and Kate Hindley, this wonderful family musical follows Gertie, a little yak who dreams of growing up and becoming one of the big yaks. But she soon discovers that being little can actually be something rather special!

We absolutely loved this production by LAStheatre! The puppetry was fantastic, particularly Gertie and Bertie, who were both adorable, and the original songs were incredibly catchy.

The three performers were brilliant, bringing the characters to life while also playing all the musical instruments themselves!

There was plenty of audience participation too, with songs and actions for the children to join in with. Alice and Leo both loved the show, especially Gertie! Leo enjoyed it so much that he's even asked for the books for Christmas!

A wonderful introduction to live theatre for younger children, with a lovely message about self-acceptance and being yourself.

⭐ We gave it 5 stars!

👾 NOT NOW, BERNARD | WATERSIDE ARTS ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We recently visited Waterside Arts in Sale to see Not Now, Bernard, a colourful family theatre production from Roustabout Theatre, based on David McKee's much-loved children's book!

Poor Bernard just wants his parents to listen to him, but they're always too busy, even when he tells them there's a monster in the garden!

With live music, clever mime, physical comedy, audience participation and an enormous purple monster, this imaginative stage adaptation was a lovely family theatre experience.

The production also incorporates Makaton signing into the storytelling, helping to make the show more accessible to children with different communication needs.

We particularly enjoyed the live sound effects, the fantastic monster costume and getting to join in shouting “Not now, Bernard!”

👾 NOT NOW, BERNARD | WATERSIDE ARTS ⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Not now, Bernard!”

We had a lovely family trip to Waterside Arts in Sale to see Roustabout Theatre's adaptation of David McKee's much-loved children's book Not Now, Bernard!

With colourful staging, live music, imaginative mime, hilarious physical comedy and an enormous purple monster, this was a wonderfully entertaining show for the whole family.

Leo particularly enjoyed the musical opening and Bernard showing us around his house, while Alice's favourite moment was when Bernard's mum dropped a vase, spilled water everywhere and tried to mop it up – all performed through mime with brilliant live sound effects!

For me, Fionn Gill's hilarious physical comedy and Shaelee Rooke's performance as the monster were particular highlights. We also all loved joining in with the familiar cry of “Not now, Bernard!”

A monstrously entertaining family show full of music, mayhem and mischief! 👾💜

💜✊ SYLVIA | THE LOWRY 🎭

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A revolution worth standing up for!

I went to see Sylvia at The Lowry, and what an absolutely phenomenal production!

Created and choreographed by Kate Prince, this electrifying musical tells the story of suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst, combining history with hip-hop, soul, funk and contemporary dance.

Naomi Katiyo is phenomenal in the title role, while Beverley Knight is simply outstanding as Emmeline Pankhurst. Their complicated mother-daughter relationship provides some of the show's most emotional moments.

The music is incredible, the lighting is spectacular, and the choreography is absolutely breathtaking!

Before seeing the show, I knew very little about Sylvia Pankhurst, so I found it fascinating to discover her story and learn more about her fight for equality.

Educational, entertaining, funny and deeply moving, Sylvia is an unforgettable theatrical experience and an absolute must-see!

🎭 At The Lowry until 24 October 2026, before continuing its UK tour.

I went to see Sylvia at The Lowry, and what an absolutely phenomenal production!

Starring Naomi Katiyo as Sylvia Pankhurst and Beverley Knight as Emmeline Pankhurst, this electrifying musical brings the story of the suffragette movement to life through hip-hop, soul, funk and contemporary dance.

The performances are outstanding, the soundtrack is incredible, and Kate Prince's choreography is nothing short of spectacular! I was particularly impressed by the precision and synchronisation of the ensemble. 🤩

What I loved most was discovering more about Sylvia Pankhurst and her fight for equality, particularly the complicated relationship with her mother. It's a fascinating, emotional and surprisingly funny story that had me completely absorbed.

Educational, entertaining, funny and deeply moving, Sylvia is an unforgettable theatrical experience and an absolute must-see!

What a fantastic night at the theatre! 🤩

Set inside a working pub called The Jungle, The Choir of Man is unlike your typical musical. From exploring the stage and visiting the onstage bar to the brilliant audience interaction, it's an experience that really makes you feel part of the show!

With nine incredibly talented performers, fantastic harmonies, energetic choreography and a brilliant mix of familiar songs, there's so much to enjoy.
