In this video I’m sharing my vlog and review of the Operation Mincemeat UK Tour at The Lowry in Salford, where Lawrence and I attended the press night of the Olivier Award-winning musical. The evening started with a look at the Operation Mincemeat merchandise stand, followed by collecting our tickets and programme from the press desk. The theatre had a special press and guest reception area with themed biscuits and drinks before the show, and there was even a yellow carpet photo area with props.. We were seated in Row S in the stalls, which gave us a great view of the stage. Operation Mincemeat tells the unbelievable true story of the World War II intelligence mission where British spies attempted to mislead the Nazis using a disguised corpse carrying fake invasion plans. It sounds unbelievable, but it really happened! Welcome to another theatre vlog! In this video I’m sharing our trip to see SIX The Musical at Manchester Opera House on Wednesday 14th January 2026. Before the show we headed to Bem Brasil for dinner, then made our way to the theatre for the 4:30pm performance. When we arrived we had a look around the theatre, checked out the SIX merchandise stand, bought a programme, and then took our seats in the Circle (Q33 & Q34). We managed to get an incredible deal on tickets — just £15 each, which made this theatre trip even more exciting! SIX The Musical runs for 80 minutes with no interval, delivering a high-energy concert-style musical where the six wives of Henry VIII tell their stories through pop music, humour and powerful performances. Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty… 📚✨ In this theatre vlog I travel from Manchester to Liverpool to see Matilda The Musical UK Tour at the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Join me for the full theatre trip experience including travel, dinner, theatre merch, seat view and my full review of the show. Matilda The Musical, based on the beloved book by Roald Dahl, has become one of the most celebrated family musicals of the last 15 years. After arriving at Liverpool Lime Street I grabbed some dinner at the pub inside the station before heading to the theatre at around 6:30pm for the 7pm performance. In today’s video, come with me to see To Kill A Mockingbird at The Lowry Theatre in Salford, Greater Manchester. This is a full theatre night out vlog and review, from grabbing some food before the show (I’d actually come straight from watching Six at the Palace Theatre – vlog and review video coming soon 👀), to collecting my tickets, showing you the merchandise, the view from my seat, a quick drink at the interval, and the final curtain call. Once I got home, I sat down properly to give you my full spoiler-free thoughts on the production and show you the programme. I went into this show completely fresh, having never read the book or seen the film, and it turned out to be one of the most powerful and thought-provoking evenings of theatre I’ve had in a long time. Set in 1930s Alabama, the story follows Scout, her brother Jem and their friend Dill as they look back on the summer their father, Atticus Finch, defended Tom Robinson — a Black man falsely accused in a deeply unjust trial. It’s a gripping courtroom drama combined with a moving coming-of-age story that still feels painfully relevant today. Come with me as I vlog our trip to The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals 2026 at the AO Arena in Manchester 🎶✨ On Monday 26th January 2026, my husband Lawrence and I headed into Manchester for one of the biggest musical theatre events of the year. We travelled by tram to Victoria Station, which brings you straight to the main entrance of the AO Arena. Even though it was really busy, we didn’t have to queue — the crowd just flowed through, with body scanners for security and tickets scanned at the doors. Once inside, we checked the arena map to find our seats in Block 214, Row R (Seats 17 & 18). Row R was the very back row of the upper tier, so we were very high up, but because we were near the side of the stage the view was actually really good and we could clearly see the performers without relying on the big screens. We wanted to grab some water before the show, but the queues near the main entrance were huge, so we walked around to the concession stands closer to our block where it was much quieter. We ended up paying £8 for two bottles of water, which is honestly crazy — but you’re not allowed to take food or drink into the arena, so you don’t really have much choice! Before the show started there was a warm-up act, including a DJ and comedian Johnny Cowling, who got the crowd singing along to songs like Sweet Caroline and We Will Rock You. There were also speeches celebrating National Lottery theatre heroes from across the UK, hosted by Gaby Roslin, followed by Jason Manford coming on stage to introduce the night and talk about what to expect. The orchestra then came out to tune up, and musical director Jon Ranger was introduced before the first performance began. Throughout the vlog you’ll see short clips from each of the live performances on the night, giving you a feel for the incredible atmosphere inside the arena. Then once we get home, I sit down and chat about the whole experience and share a little mini review — including my favourite moment of the night, which was The Lion King’s opening performance of Circle of Life (I’m such a sucker for puppets!). Set in 1920s Hollywood during the transition from silent films to talkies, Singin’ in the Rain follows movie star Don Lockwood, his best friend Cosmo Brown and aspiring actress Kathy Selden as they navigate fame, creativity and change — with plenty of romance, comedy and iconic songs along the way. Join us for our vlog and review of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at The Lowry, Salford, where we were invited to the press night on Thursday 4th December (gifted tickets). The show was performed in The Lowry’s Lyric Theatre, starting at 7pm, with a total runtime of 2 hours 20 minutes (Act One: 60 minutes, 20-minute interval, Act Two: 50 minutes). The age guide is 6+, and I attended with my husband and our 8-year-old daughter. We were seated in the stalls, Row J, seats 16–18, which offered a fantastic view of the stage.
