OMG you guys! Get ready to bend and snap your way into the fabulous world of Elle Woods because Legally Blonde The Musical is back – and it’s getting a bold new makeover!

Producers ROYO and Curve have announced an all-new production of the smash-hit Broadway and West End comedy Legally Blonde The Musical, kicking off an epic UK and Ireland tour in 2026. Manchester audiences can catch the pink-powered spectacular at the Opera House from 3 – 14 November 2026.

Adapted from Amanda Brown’s novel and the beloved 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, this musical has long cemented its place in theatre history. Now, with Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster at the helm (whose credits include Kinky Boots and The Wizard of Oz), Elle Woods is set to sparkle brighter than ever.

About the Show

Elle Woods might have a wardrobe full of pink, but she’s more than just a fashionista. When her boyfriend dumps her to get “serious” at Harvard Law School, Elle follows him – and discovers her true self in the process.

This all-singing, all-dancing musical features fabulous original music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. Expect heart, humour, high heels, and a powerful message about believing in yourself.

As Curve’s Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Nikolai Foster shared:

“Legally Blonde is firmly established in the musical theatre repertoire as a contemporary classic... this electrifying musical about empowerment, equality and the folly of judging a book by its cover remains pitch perfect and as relevant as ever.”

What’s New?

This isn’t just a revival – it’s a total refresh. Foster is teaming up with a new creative team to bring a “fresh, fun and sunny SoCal” spin to the story. Following the huge success of Kinky Boots, the collaboration between Curve and ROYO promises to deliver another blockbuster hit.

Casting and creative details are still under wraps, but we’re expecting big things – and probably some little dogs with big personalities, too!
