Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical UK Tour Announced for 2027

The Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical UK tour will see the acclaimed production travel across the UK and Ireland, sharing the extraordinary behind-the-scenes story of Live Aid with a new generation of theatre-goers. Following a record-breaking world premiere at The Old Vic and a successful West End run at the Shaftesbury Theatre, the musical continues its journey beyond London with a large-scale national tour.

The production celebrates the events of 13 July 1985, when music united the world during the unprecedented Live Aid concerts held simultaneously in London and Philadelphia — a moment watched by an estimated 1.5 billion people worldwide.

The Story Behind the Greatest Gig in Music History

On 13 July 1985, music united the world. Live Aid became a global phenomenon, watched by 1.5 billion people, raising vital funds and awareness during one of the most significant charitable moments in modern history.

More than 40 years later, Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical tells the behind-the-scenes story of how that extraordinary day came together — celebrating the people, passion and urgency that made Live Aid possible.

The musical features songs by legendary artists including Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and more — artists who all played a part in making music history.

From The Old Vic to the West End — and Beyond

The musical originally premiered at The Old Vic, where it became the venue’s fastest-selling musical ever. Following a successful North American run in Toronto, the production transferred to the West End, opening at Shaftesbury Theatre in May 2025.

The West End run will conclude on Saturday 7 February 2026, ahead of a scheduled refurbishment of the theatre, making way for the 2027 UK and Ireland tour.

Supporting the Band Aid Charitable Trust

In keeping with the spirit of Live Aid, Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical continues to support the work of the Band Aid Charitable Trust, with £1.5 million raised to date. All income received by the Trust from ticket sales goes directly towards its ongoing humanitarian work.

Bob Geldof said:

Just For One Day brilliantly reimagines why Live Aid worked then and why the humanity of that day still matters now. I’m delighted that more of the UK and Ireland will finally get to see this extraordinary and compelling musical.
