The Plastics Are Coming to a Stage Near You!

You can sit with us! After its fabulous West End run, Mean Girls the Musical is packing up its Burn Book and heading on a fetch UK and Ireland tour starting February 2026. With its razor-sharp humour, high-energy choreography, and all-too-relatable high school drama, the musical promises to delight fans of the original film and newcomers alike.

From Screen to Stage – The Story So Far

Based on the beloved 2004 Paramount Pictures film, Mean Girls follows Cady Heron, a former home-schooled teen navigating the chaotic social hierarchy of North Shore High. When she accidentally infiltrates the school’s ruling clique – the stylish, savage Plastics – Cady’s plan to bring them down spirals into a deliciously disastrous battle of popularity, power, and pink Wednesdays.

The musical adaptation boasts a hilarious book by Tina Fey (who wrote the original screenplay), music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. Direction and choreography come courtesy of Broadway heavyweight Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), promising a slick, sassy, and sparkling production.

A Worldwide Phenomenon

After premiering at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. in 2017 and opening on Broadway in 2018, Mean Girls the Musical has taken the world by storm. It toured the US, won over 330,000 fans during its 2024–2025 West End run, and scooped up Best New Musical at the 25th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards. A new film version with musical numbers even hit cinemas in 2024, introducing the story to a brand-new generation.

Now, the next chapter begins – and it’s going to be so fetch.
