A Magical Return: Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre

The Bridge Theatre has announced the complete casting for its upcoming revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods. Previews begin on 2 December 2025, with an official opening night on 11 December 2025. The production will run for 20 weeks until 18 April 2026, bringing a festive and fantastical start to the new year.


Directed by Jordan Fein with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, this revival promises to be a spectacular retelling of the beloved musical that interweaves the Brothers Grimm’s most famous fairy tales.


The Star-Studded Cast

Leading the cast is Kate Fleetwood as the Witch, joined by an ensemble of celebrated stage talent:

  • Katie Brayben (Tammy Faye, Olivier Award winner) as the Baker’s Wife

  • Chumisa Dornford-May (The Great Comet of 1812, Olivier nominee) as Cinderella

  • Jo Foster (Why Am I So Single?) as Jack

  • Michael Gould (Oedipus) as the Narrator/Mysterious Man

  • Julie Jupp (A Christmas Carol) as Jack’s Mother

  • Valda Aviks (The Addams Family Musical) as Grandmother/Giant

  • Geoffrey Aymer (The Wizard of Oz) as Cinderella’s Father

  • Jennifer Hepburn (Mamma Mia!) as Cinderella’s Stepmother

  • Hana Ichijo (The Baker’s Wife) as Lucinda

  • Gabrielle Lewis-Dodson (42nd Street) as Florinda

  • Hughie O’Donnell (King Lear) as the Steward


Completing the company are standbys Taite-Elliot Drew, Jacob Fowler, Sophie Linder-Lee, and Chloe Saracco.

A Timeless Musical

First premiering on Broadway in 1987, Into the Woods has become one of Sondheim and Lapine’s most beloved works. Combining Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Ridinghood, and Rapunzel, the story asks what happens after “happily ever after.”

As Fein notes:

“It’s a musical that speaks to the necessity and power of community through the brilliant music and words of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. To create this production with such an extraordinary cast and creative team is an actual dream come true.”
