Back to the Future The Musical to Tour the UK from October 2026, Bringing the DeLorean to Bristol, Edinburgh, Liverpool and More

Exciting news for musical theatre fans: Back to the Future The Musical is set to embark on its first ever UK tour, opening at the Bristol Hippodrome from Thursday 8 October to Saturday 21 November 2026. Following its Bristol debut, the tour will travel to the Edinburgh Playhouse, Liverpool Empire, Milton Keynes Theatre, Sunderland Empire, and the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, with further dates and casting yet to be announced.

Based on the iconic 1985 Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, the musical features a book by Bob Gale, with original music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside beloved hits from the film such as The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode.

Currently in its fifth year at London’s Adelphi Theatre, the production has broken box office records and been seen by over 2 million people in the UK alone. Internationally, it has been staged in North America, Japan, and on Royal Caribbean Cruises, with upcoming productions in Australia and Germany. Globally, more than 4 million people have seen the show.

Lead producer Colin Ingram, working alongside Back to the Future creators Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, said:"I’m so delighted that the DeLorean will be travelling 88 mph to all the main theatre cities in the UK so that we can bring this heartfelt spectacle of a show to those who haven’t seen it in the West End or want to see it again. Great Scott! Audiences are going to have such a fun and thrilling ride in a show which will tour in all its glory and be one of the biggest sets to come out on the road."
