From Page to Stage – A Classic Comes to Life!

Before The Gruffalo roared into our lives, A Squash and a Squeeze was the very first collaboration between storytelling dream team Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. This beloved tale is now bursting onto the stage in a brand-new musical adaptation — and it’s heading to The Lowry, Salford for an unforgettable summer run!

After a hit run at London’s Little Angel Theatre, the show arrives in the North from Tuesday 5th to Sunday 24th August 2025. Get ready for giggles, grooving, and a goat in the kitchen...

Puppets, Music and Mayhem for Little Ones

Aimed at ages 3–8, this heartwarming show is a playful mix of puppetry, live music, and laugh-out-loud silliness. It's co-produced by Little Angel Theatre and The Lowry, and brought to life by the award-nominated duo Barb Jungr and Samantha Lane – the creative forces behind The Smartest Giant in Town and Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book.

Whether your child is new to the story or already shouting "Wise old man, won't you help me please?" this musical is guaranteed to charm and delight.
