Christmas is coming early to London’s West End as Elf The Musical reveals its spectacular cast for a strictly limited 10-week season at the Aldwych Theatre. Running from 28 October 2025 to 3 January 2026, this heartwarming holiday favourite promises laughter, music, and festive cheer for the whole family.
Meet the Leads OF Elf The Musical

Montague brings a wealth of experience to the role, having wowed audiences as King George III in Hamilton and George Wilson in the UK premiere of The Great Gatsby.
Carrie Hope Fletcher, four-time WhatsOnStage Award winner and West End star, takes on the role of Jovie, Buddy’s love interest. With credits including Heathers, Les Misérables, and Cinderella, Carrie’s charisma and powerful voice are sure to light up the Aldwych stage this Christmas.
The role of Buddy’s father, Walter Hobbs, will be played by Aled Jones MBE, a household name in music and broadcasting. From singing for the Pope to more than 40 albums and countless platinum awards, Aled brings warmth, charm, and festive spirit to the role of Buddy’s long-lost dad.

The Story
Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema film starring Will Ferrell, Elf The Musical tells the charming story of Buddy, a human raised among elves. Too tall and hilariously awkward, Buddy discovers the truth about his origins and sets off on a journey to New York City to reunite with his real family. Along the way, Buddy spreads laughter, love, and the true meaning of Christmas—proving that “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!”
With music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, this joyful musical features festive favourites including A Christmas Song and Sparklejollytwinklejingley.
Creative Team
The West End production is directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, choreographed by Liam Steel, with set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, lighting by Patrick Woodroffe, sound by Gareth Owen, and video design by Ian William Galloway. Casting is led by Grindrod Burton Casting, ensuring a top-tier ensemble for this holiday hit.
A Festive Tradition Returns
Following record-breaking runs at the Dominion Theatre in 2022 and 2023, and a celebrated Broadway revival at the Marquis Theatre in 2024, this production of Elf The Musical is set to bring a fresh and dazzling holiday experience to London audiences.
A newly adapted set for the Aldwych Theatre ensures this festive favourite fits perfectly in the iconic West End venue.
