La Voix to Star As Miss Hannigan in Annie Musical UK & Ireland Tour 2026–2027

The hit West End musical Annie is heading back on the road, with producers announcing initial casting for the brand-new Annie UK & Ireland Tour 2026–2027. Leading the company, La Voix – known for Strictly Come Dancing and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – will take on the iconic role of Miss Hannigan in Wimbledon, Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth and Canterbury.

Joining La Voix is musical theatre favourite Alex Bourne (The Wizard of Oz), who returns to the role of Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks following previous acclaimed performances in the production. Full casting and the performer playing Miss Hannigan from Cardiff onwards will be announced soon.

This new tour revives the Curve Leicester’s smash-hit production, directed by Nikolai Foster, whose credits include Kinky Boots and The Silence of the Lambs. The staging has been a critical and audience favourite, previously starring household names such as Paul O’Grady, Craig Revel Horwood, Elaine C Smith and Jodie Prenger as Miss Hannigan.

A Beloved Musical Returns

Based on the classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie, the musical features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan. Fans can look forward to timeless songs including:

  • It’s the Hard Knock Life

  • Easy Street

  • I Don’t Need Anything But You

  • Tomorrow

Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, the story follows brave young Annie, trapped in the miserable orphanage run by Miss Hannigan. Annie’s life transforms when billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites her to spend Christmas at his mansion — but Miss Hannigan, along with her scheming partners, has other plans.
